August 2024 definitely offers a wide range of gaming titles to suit every player's preferences. Major releases like **Black Myth: Wukong, Star Wars Outlaws , and Madden NFL 25 ** are expected to draw significant attention. Additionally, the indie game scene introduces unique and creative titles like the survival sandbox Core Keeper , while in the RPG genre, players can embark on the adventure of Visions of Mana . Whether you enjoy action-packed games, exciting adventures, or unique experiences, August is packed with compelling new games waiting to be explo
I was pumped to get the chance to play Wukong and go all in on my new hyper fixation and raced across the eerily quiet show floor expecting to waltz in, get my monkey goodness, and get on with my day. That’s not what happened. Despite the show not yet being open to the general public and my breakfast having barely settled in my stomach, there was already an hour-long queue that was growing by the sec
It was unusual for me, who usually jumps aboard any hype train with reckless abandon, not to understand the hype for Wukong, but that all changed after the incredible Opening Night Live trailer. From the moment Wukong deflected bullets by spinning his staff around while looking like a total badass, I was hooked and finally saw what everyone was so excited about. Sindel’s brutal fatality might have made me wince beyond belief, but Black Myth: Wukong was easily one of the best parts of the s
The best compliment that can be paid after any hands-on preview is that it leaves you wanting more. Black Myth: Wukong did that in all the best ways. I wanted to see more of the evocative world that lay ahead, improve my skills and challenge some of the optional bosses I saw but quickly trounced me, and to experience how the combat evolves over time. Just this small taste was enough to prove that the initial promise of Black Myth: Wukong – a beautiful game with impressive combat – was not a trick. This is the real deal and it’s easily one of my most anticipated games releasing in the latter part of 20
From talking to other FromSoft experts, I’ve gathered that Erdtree’s fights aren’t as easy to brute force as other fights. In our discussion video last week, reviewer James Troughton explained that their plan to stagger enemies with blunt weapons wasn’t as effective as they’d hoped, but when they switched to a more hybrid build with magic options, they had a lot more success. They also used the Mimic Tear Spirit Summon to distract bosses, and when they weren’t strong enough to beat a boss, they farmed Scadutree Fragments until they w
However, Black Myth: Wukong also looks to be bucking some of these trends. On the surface level, we see that most of these creatures are not so plagued with infection or wrought with tragedy as those in FromSoftware's catalog. The anthropomorphic animals and giant beasts (namely the spider and the turtle) are shown without themselves being turned into horror sh
Wuchang: Fallen Feathers tells the story of Bai Wuchang, a warrior with no memory who is battling a mysterious illness known as Ornithropy. Sekiro 's protagonist, Wolf , is also prone to contracting an illness known as Dragonrot. However, while Ornithropy is slowly morphing Wuchang into a monster, on the flip side, it is also granting her access to immense power. The game is described as non-linear but stops short of calling itself an open-world game, so it's likely it will adopt a similar semi-open-world structure that is used in both Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice , and the upcoming Black Myth Wukong Collectibles|Https://Blackmythwukongfans.Com/ Myth: Wuko
So, while there may not be builds in the traditional sense, players can approach Black Myth: Wukong in different ways based on their spell and Transformation choice. They can also take things a step further by spending skill points on different staff forms (switched using the d-pad) that have their own attack patterns. For the preview, we unlocked the Tower Form , which has a nifty move where Sun Wukong climbs to the top of his staff and stands out of harm’s way before doing a flashy flip and slam move. It seems likely that most players will unlock all of the skills by the game’s end, but those different staff forms seem to do enough to mix up combat and allow for unique approaches to varied enem
With appointments to keep and big gamer rizz to spread across Gamescom, I trudged away defeated and resolved to go back even earlier the next day to beat the rush and make sure I got some time with the show’s surprising superstar, which strangely didn’t have any presence or opportunities for press. You’ve read the title so you’ve hopefully figured out where this is going. The queue was somehow even bigger the next day, with signs indicating wait times between two to four hours before the sun had even ri
I’m not trying to talk anyone out of playing Wukong (though I do recommend you at least inform yourself about the allegations of discrimination and harassment at Game Science ). It’s a Soulslike through and through and I expect it will be popular with fans of the genre. But if Erdtree is too hard for you because the bosses are relentless, I’m sorry to say it, but Wukong isn’t going to treat you any ni
