There’s no doubt that Sucker Punch Productions is a talented developer having previously delivered two stellar franchises. To see them do something so different and pull it off as well as they have, however, is masterful. Beautiful and deadly, Ghost of Tsushima is shaping up to be a real showcase for the PS4 and the studio. We still have a ways off before the game finally launches, but we’re excited to see what else Ghost of Tsushima has in store for us.

Sony's final State of Play for 2019 featured several new and interesting trailers, some of which are brand new announcements. The show took place quite early and went by quite fast, but we have rounded up the coolest announcements for you in case you missed

The demonstration shows a good bit of combat, which definitely looks like an evolution for the series, as well as a departure from the familiar techniques of the assassins from prior installments. The player will control a mercenary and employ parries, dodges, and special abilities, like the unbelievably cool "Sparta kick," to dispatch foes. The private demo allowed Sucker Punch to highlight many of the little details that make the game feel real. Mud splashes about when stepped through, wheat parts as you race by and leaves move across the floor realistically as characters fight. It’s all an impressive sight.

Authenticity to the period and setting were one of Sucker Punch’s key objectives when building the game. The team traveled to Japan to study the environment and architecture of the time and took that knowledge to develop a stunning game. From the thick forests to the lush moss growing on rocks to the fields of wheat that blow in the wind, Ghost of Tsushima is a gorgeous game to behold. To add additional authenticity to the world, the demo was played with Japanese audio, an option that will be available players at launch.

PlayStation’s focus on a handful of games for E3 2018 was well-known weeks before they held their press conference. With rumors swirling about a potential PlayStation 5 on the horizon, it was apparent that the platform holder would focus on its current crop of announced titles. The Last of Us Part II and Spider-Man are proven winners, and Death Standing continued to intrigue. Ghost of Tsushima, however, was perhaps the most interesting title. A far cry from Sucker Punch’s previous work, Ghost of Tsushima made its presence known at the show and stunned in its debut.

It's due to its now-delayed release window that Ghost of Tsushima will instead be instead focused on at the as-yet-unannounced PlayStation Meeting 2020. This kind of event could tentatively fall anywhere through 2020. 2016's PlayStation Meeting was in September and focused on the announcement and reveal of the PlayStation Pro console. Ghost of Tsushima , the samurai action game from Infamous developers Sucker Punch, may be coming to PS5 according to a new rumor. After a year and a half of silence , Square Enix and PlatinumGames finally showed off Bablyon's Fall once more. It seems to be pretty on-brand when it comes to PlatinumGames action, though it does have a cool fantasy setting. Its visuals have also been created with a "Brushwork Filter ." 2010's post-apocalyptic first person shooter Rage saw mixed reception at its release, which makes the forthcoming follow-up's considerable presence and surrounding buzz that much more impressive. The near-universally positive response to Rage 2 's wild trailer is a testament to the developers' passion for the project, a duo made up by id Software and Avalanche Studios. Predictably, the game will be an open world, first-person run-and-gun affair. Nonetheless, the trailer couldn't have done a better job making Rage 2 look ridiculously

If we were just chatting about the Best Nintendo Switch game award, it would be no question that Super Smash Bros. Ultimate mopped up the competition at E3 2018. However, we are going a step further with it -- the game is also the best First-Party Developed title we touched on the show floor. With such a strong legacy, it's hard to imagine Ultimate living up to the expectations, or (for that matter) surpassing Melee . However, if there is one game to do it, it would be Ultima
