For much of the evening, Michael Hazanavicius’ black-and-white silent film homage, The Artist , swept the Golden Globes in the comedy category, coming out on top overall with three wins for Best Original Score, Best Actor and Best Picture. Over on the drama side, Alexander Payne's The Descendants t ook home the most awards in the drama category with a Best Actor win for George Clooney and Best Pict

A relatively subdued Ricky Gervais took the stage as host of the 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards . In his second year as host, it appears that all of last year’s controversy surrounding Gervais' hosting must have impacted the funnyman, as all of his jabs appeared a little too nice compared to what was said last ye

So you've heard all the talk, accusations and screaming about the film Hounddog (or as many spelling-impaired people are writing it: Houndog ) screening at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival starring Dakota Fanning but haven't seen the film. The big question on people's mind is "Just how outrageous or explicit was that rape sce
In television, it was Showtime that came out on top, with three awards all stemming from brand new series. Matt Leblanc took home Best Actor (comedy or musical) for playing a fictionalized version of himself on the UK import Episodes , while Homeland not only brought home a Golden Globe for Claire Danes as Best Actress (drama), but it also gave Showtime its first ever award for Best Ser
She turns to Louis (Jason Patric), who she has exchanged hundreds of emails and instant messages with for comfort, or as close a thing to comfort as she is able to achieve. She self-mutilates with razor blades and she enjoys pain, all due to her uber-negative self im
Back in November I posted the trailer to In Bruges and commented that it looked like a Movie Awards Games Trophies|Https://Moviefestivalhub.Com/ that would not be a hit with mainstream audiences but those that like indie movies would probably love it. Well I just watched it and I'm more certain than ever that my first reaction will turn out to be accur
The acerbic political comedy just keeps getting better every season (which is likely why it continually takes home the Emmy in its category). Like Game of Thrones , there's reason to believe the love shown for this series from other award shows will bleed over into the HFPA, so an upset here wouldn't be unheard of. It also wouldn't feel like that much of an up
Jakes Gyllenhaal said it best this evening, pointing out that it would be the shorts that make or break our Oscar Pools. I am usually able to get half of them right by watching them and picking favorites but this year I got them all wrong. Amongst the big categories there were few surprises though, outside of Tom Hooper ( The King's Speech ) beating out David Fincher ( The Social Network ) for achievement in directing. But hey, Chris Nolan wasn't even nominated for Inception so without further
To be honest, the HFPA put up a good list. It's a little quirky with Mozart in the Jungle , but that just makes it feel more balanced. There's not a whole lot that could have been changed, but given the Globes' budding reputation for recognizing smaller shows with a unique voice of their own, it would have been nice to see either Hulu's Difficult People or Netflix's BoJack Horseman , both of which succeed in skewering celebrity and Hollywood culture in different ways. Then again, maybe that's why they're not on here. And now, come to think of it, let's nominate Difficult People stars Billy Eichner and Julie Klausner to be the hosts of the 74th Golden Globes in 2
Honestly, this one is a crapshoot. There isn't a performer on here who doesn't have a legitimate claim to the award given the work they've done this year. Rodriguez took the Globe home last year, and since we've inadvertently started a trend that 2016 will be the year of the repeat, we'll bet that Rodriguez goes home with it ag
